5/16/17 Overall

I really loved emerging technology this semester. I had no idea what I was getting myself into and wasn't that excited going into the class. Although, after the very first day of class with Mrs. Peres I knew I was going to really enjoy it and I did. One thing that I loved about this class is the alone time. She gave us an assignment, explained it the first day, and let us work alone from then on out and get stuff done in a quick manner. We may have gotten many assignments, but Mrs. Peres gave us just the right amount of time to complete them. I also really liked the organization of keeping every assignment in my blog and getting to design that. One of my favorite assignments was the website. I love that I got to create my very own website on dance because it means so much to me. My homepage background of my team on a hill is my favorite part of my whole website. I really don't have any suggestions on how to make this class better for the future. I truly did like everything about it.

5/12/17 How to Video

Using PowerPoint Mix went pretty smoothly for me. The only thing that didn't work (for everyone) is the drawing and talking tool together.  I really enjoyed this assignment because it was fun, even though the videos of me talking and doing are a bit rough.  I feel as though Office 365 is so much more interesting than google slides and google drive. Now that I know to use  ppt mix I will use that skill for future presentations.

5/4/17 Website Reflection

I really enjoyed building my own website about something that I love. I found the creating process so much easier than what I thought it was going to be. Now that I know that there is free sources like Weebly and Wix, there is a possibility I could use one or the other in the future. I wanted to use Weebly to challenge myself because I have already used Wix for a photography assignment. Not only did I like creating a website myself, but I also like that I got the time to look at everybody else's sites.

  After looking at ten people's websites in the class, my two favorites are Niki and Sydney's. Niki's site is all about our planet and getting involved to make a change. I loved her website because she made it very educational yet eye opening at the same time with all of the moving pictures. Sydney made her website all about dance and made it more of a blog. I really enjoyed how she included not only tons of great pictures, but also lots and lots of videos of dances which is super fun.

4/27/17 Website selection

The only time I have created a website was for photography class. I used Wix to make a site of all of the pictures I took. For this assignment I am making a website all about  le dance using Weebly. I chose Weebly because I wanted to try something different.

New car gadgets
I really enjoyed completing current event #5. It was all all about current trending technology. For me, I specifically looked at new car gadgets. I loved learning about new car technology that is for safety and for fun. I am curious to see how buyers respond to these new trends.

4/17 Favorite new apps

Reflection: Overall, I really enjoyed this project. I really like that we got the choice to figure out what app we would like to know more about. Not only did I learn a lot about the app Liketoknow.it, but I also got to know about a lot more other apps that could really help with organization and school.

No, I have never used Google Drive to create a form. I have no idea what this means at all. I also don't have much experience with survey-generating software. I have taken school surveys and things like that, but have not created my own type of survey. What I do know is that a survey is meant to get feedback from your peers. With this assignment, I will learn how to make my own.

4/3/17 My weekend

My weekend was packed at the maximum. Friday was my only day to hang with my friends. We threw a surprise party for our friend Haley. Luckily, I didn't blow it by saying something to her on accident. On Saturday I had to wake up at 6:00 am to do my hair and get ready for spacing rehearsal. Since competition is in a few weeks, my whole studio went to Olathe South High School to run every single dance on stage. It was the most tiring thing ever, especially because it lasted all day long. The next day was dress rehearsal at the studio. I had to wake up early again to rehearse every dance. This time we had to put on all of our costumes to make sure everything is ready to go for competing. When I got home after dress rehearsal , I crashed immediately.

3/31/17 NCAA reflection

By competing in this class competition, I've learned that it is all a guessing game. Prior to this class, I downloaded the NCAA app and was put into a group of friends and family to compete for the best bracket as well. The only team I really sat down to watch were the Jayhawks and after that I learned that your bracket could be all done for just after a single game. I used Word to make my bracket and Google Sheets to make my spreadsheet.  On word I learned how to put shapes together. I also learned that you can copy, paste, and flip one side that you already completed to the other so that you don't have to make it all again. I hadn't used Google Sheets in forever, so everything we did was kind of new to me.

3/21/17 Spring Break

This spring break I went on our annual Cabo San Lucas trip. My family has gone here for the past five years and have stayed at the same exact resort. We absolutely love it. Although, this year had bit of a twist to it. Now that my oldest sister Lauren has a different spring break as Lindsay and I do, Lindsay somehow got to bring her boyfriend Kyle. I really missed Lauren, but still had an amazing time. For the majority of the time I layed out on the beach because my goal was to get very tan. Not only did I lay out; I swam, banana boated, and went on a boat ride. The boat ride was one of my favorite parts because they anchored the boat and we got to snorkel, kayak, and paddle board. Another big highlight of the trip was taking a water taxi down to Lovers Beach. On the way down they gave us a tour around the famous "Scooby Doo" rock, and we visited some sea lions. Then we got dropped off at Lovers Beach for an hour and got to explore that.

Sydney W: Her infographic is about dance, which I love. In addition, she has a ton of pictures that go along with her stats which makes it 10x more interesting to the viewer.

Lauren S: Lauren's infographic is very organized and neat. The  icons she got from piktochart really tied everything together.

Miranda O: I don't know really anything about softball, so after reading her infographic I learned many facts about softball that I never knew before.

Kenneth: His infographic is very relevant in how it is about the costs of going back to school.The colors pop and he has a ton of statistics and graphics. I like the graph that shows how much of each supply a parent buys.

Carlie: Carlie's infographic is one of my favorites because it is so visually pleasing with the color scheme and visuals. I loved how she started with the  quote "Without music, life would be a mistake".

Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment. To me, making an  infographic is really fun because you get to pick a topic you're interested about, learn about it, and get it out there in a fun and creative way. In addition, Piktochart was very easy to get the hang of. It showed you step by step how to make an infographic and what they should include on them. I like how we got the chance to look at other people's infographics to see what they have been working on, and give positive feedback.
